The journey of Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) began in the year 2005 by a group of aspiring academicians with aspirations to provide high quality education at national and international level. The first step in this direction was the Jagannath Institute for Technology and Management (JITM), a sick engineering institute considered one of the most challenging tribal districts of Odisha and a Left Wing Extremist-affected area. Subsequently, in August 2010, through an Act of Odisha Legislative Assembly, JITM was transformed into Centurion University of Technology and Management. It became the first multi-sectoral state private university in Odisha.
Our founders realized during their first stint as teachers that education as one of the most powerful tools for empowerment was actually designed for the elite. In response, he embarked on an ambitious journey aimed at bringing employment-related education to those who needed it most. As a result, Centurion University has skilled, trained and connected 80,000 "poor, poor and very poor" youth to find gainful employment. Through the five social enterprises established under the University, teaching, training, production and community engagement are transformed into mainstream education, allowing the University to provide practical knowledge, experiential learning and practice-linked learning with the flexibility of horizontal and vertical mobility.
His vision was to build Centurion University brick by brick not only as a home for research and education, but also as an institution that provides opportunities for growth to all students from the social canvas and they are truly remarkable. Centurion University PhD Admission Process
The university started offering doctoral programs in the areas of Engineering, Applied Sciences, Management, Humanities/Social Sciences, Pharmacy, Agriculture in 2011. The program also accepts PhDs in inter-disciplinary areas. Till date the university has awarded 58 doctoral degrees and total 262 students are enrolled in PhD program in various disciplines, out of which 22 are receiving stipends from the university. Centurion University encourages PhD students to conduct action research with strong policy and application implications.
