Today, the Cabinet Committee on Security has taken a historic decision in the direction of making Indian forces the best army in the world. On this occasion, Rajnath Singh said that today we are bringing a transformative scheme called 'Agneepath' which will transform our Armed Forces to make them completely modern and well equipped.
Under the 'Agneepath' scheme, Indian youth will be provided an opportunity to serve in the Armed Forces as 'Agniveer'. This scheme has been brought to strengthen the security of the country and to give military service opportunity to our youth.
You all will surely agree that the entire nation, especially our youth, looks at the Armed Forces with respect. Every child at some point in his life aspires to wear the army uniform. Under the 'Agneepath' scheme, efforts are being made to make the profile of the Indian Army as youthful as the profile of the wider Indian population.
State will give priority to 'Agniveer'
Rajnath Singh said that the state government will give priority to those who emerge as 'Agniveer' in taking loans, starting industries. He said that the government will do whatever is needed in this.
Job Prospects will Increase
Job prospects will increase with the 'Agneepath' scheme. The skills and experience acquired during Agniveer's service will give them employment in various sectors. With this, the economy will also have the availability of highly skilled workplace, which will be helpful in productivity gains and overall GDP growth. A good pay package will also be available for 'Agniveer'. A service fund package and a Liberal Death and Disability package have also been arranged on exit after four years of service. Women will also join the Navy's 'Agniveer'.
Every youth will get a chance
On this occasion, the Army Chief said that it has been finalized after talking to all the stakeholders. Every youth of the country will get a chance in the army. The whole process of recruitment will be transparent and the criteria of recruitment will not be compromised. 'Agniveer' will join the army in every way. Operational and non-operational areas will be included.
Opportunity for women sailors
The Navy Chief said that women sailors in the Navy will also come through this. Women will not face any problem in training.
Recruitment on the basis of 'Agniveer'
The Air Chief said that initially less would be taken. The new 'Agniveer' will come, seeing them, this plan will be taken forward. Along with this, three opportunities will be given to the youth under this scheme. The Air Chief said that he would get a good salary. You will get a good feeling and after 4 years he will get good opportunities.
Benefits of 'Agniveer'
'Agniveer' will also be offered an attractive monthly package with applicable risk and hardship allowances across the three services. On completion of the period of 4 years, Agniveers will be paid a lump sum 'Sevanidhi' package, which will include their contribution which will include interest earned on it and a contribution equal to the accumulated amount of their contribution from the government. 1. Customized Package (Monthly) in Hand (70%).
2. Contribution to Agniveer Corpus Fund (30%).
3. Contribution to the Corpus Fund by the Government of India

The total contribution to Agniveer Corpus Fund after four years is Rs 5.02 lakh.
11.71 lakh (including accumulated interest as per interest rates applicable on the above amount) will also be paid as retirement package.
'Service Fund' will be exempted from Income Tax. No one will be entitled to gratuity and pensionary benefits. Agniveers will be provided a non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 48 lakh for their term in the Indian Armed Forces.
