World Hindi Day History
In the year 1975, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi
inaugurated the first World Hindi Conference. Since 1975, World Hindi
Conference was organized in various countries like India, Mauritius, United
Kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago, United States of America. Let us tell you, World
Hindi Day was celebrated for the first time on January 10, 2006. Since then it
is celebrated as World Hindi Day every year on 10 January.
Difference between National Hindi Day and World Hindi Day
There is confusion among many people regarding Hindi Day and
World Hindi Day. The purpose of both the days is to spread the word of Hindi
language. While National Hindi Day is celebrated on 14 September, World Hindi
Day is celebrated on 10 January.
After the independence of India, there was a big question
about the language because in a country full of diversity like India, many
types of languages ??and dialects are spoken. After much deliberation, Hindi
and English were chosen as the languages ??of the new nation.
The Constituent Assembly accepted Hindi written in
Devanagari script as the official language of the nation along with the
British. On 14 September 1949, the Constituent Assembly unanimously elected
Hindi as the official language of India. The first Hindi Day was celebrated on
14 September 1953.
