Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the country's budget on Tuesday. A lot of announcements were made for the education sector in this budget. From the emphasis on digital education to the establishment of a digital university, many big announcements have been made by the government for the year 2022-23. The special thing is that the education sector has a record share in this year's budget. The government has presented a budget of 1 lakh 4 thousand 277 crores for education for the year 2022-23.

Last Year Budget

For the year 2021-22, the government had set a budget of Rs 93 thousand 224 crore for the education sector. However, by amending it, a deduction of Rs 5 thousand 223 crore was made. In this context, Rs 16, 267 crore more has been allocated in the education budget for the year 2022-23. Which is 17 percent more than the previous budget.

Emphasis on Universal Education

In the budget speech of the year 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that for universal education, this year the government has allocated about Rs 37,383 crore under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. At the same time, last year a total budget allocation of 30 thousand crores was made for this scheme. Schools across the country were closed for a long time due to the Corona epidemic. Due to this there has been a lot of loss to the studies of the students. Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan will prove to be an important link in making up for this loss.

Others Funds Also Izncreased

The allocation for Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) has been increased from 8,344.84 crores to 8,495 crores in the budget of 2022. At the same time, a provision of Rs 5320.91 crore has been made for University Grants Commission (UGC) and AICTE. A provision of Rs 5139.2 crore was made for this in the budget of 2021.
