Test
Comparison:
ü The CAT and CMAT
are the two most common MBA entry tests. Furthermore, the CMAT and CAT, which
are both used to get admission to top B-Schools, have significant commonalities
that cause confusion among MBA candidates. The Indian Institute of Management
administers the CAT, whereas the National Testing Agency administers the CMAT.
CMAT and CAT are national exams for admission to over 1000 colleges and
universities.
ü The number of
applicants for the CAT test is more than three times that of the CMAT exam.
Given the lower level of competition in the CMAT, one may argue that the CAT is
more difficult. However, before selecting one of the two management admission
tests, one must weigh all of the advantages and disadvantages.
ü Knowing the
distinctions might assist you in deciding which exam to take. Knowing the
similarities might help you enhance your preparation technique if you plan to
appear for both. Continue reading to learn more about the differences between
the CAT and the CMAT.
Frequently
Asked Questions:
Is the CMAT
test more difficult than other MBA examinations such as the CAT? |
The CMAT test is
less demanding than the CAT exam. CMAT is a moderately challenging test, and
individuals training for other management competitive examinations such as
CAT and XAT will find it easier. |
How many times
is the CMAT test given each year? |
The CMAT test is
held once a year, often in the months of January and February. However,
because to the COVID-19 pandemic, CMAT exam 2021 was held on March 31, 2021. |
Is it possible
to study for the CMAT test in four months? |
If you can commit
roughly 6-7 hours each day to studying for the CMAT exam, 4 months is a
reasonable length of time. Clearing key concepts, practise problems from
major themes in the CMAT curriculum, and taking at least 20-25 mock exams and
sample papers are all part of CMAT preparation. |
Who administers
the CMAT exam? |
Since 2018, the
National Testing Agency (NTA) has been administering the CMAT test. Before
this, the test was conducted by AICTE as per the instructions of the
Government of India. |
What is the
length of the CMAT exam? |
The exam will last
3 hours. If the applicant chooses to take the optional Innovation &
Entrepreneurship segment, the exam time will be extended by 30 minutes. |
