Citroen India launch the New C3 SUV

French car maker Citroen is about to launch its second car in India soon. Introduced in September last year, the C3 SUV has been under testing on Indian roads for quite some time now. In the latest glimpse, the car is seen without any stickers and it looks ready for production. It is estimated that this car will compete with many cars like Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis in the Indian market.

Citroen C3 Look

In the latest spy shots, what appears to be a SUV shaped like the Citroen C3 hatchback without any stickers. The exterior is almost like a cross hatch with black plastic cladding around it. It looks like a normal micro SUV like the Tata Punch. The front part of the C3 gets a sturdy bonnet that comes with the Citroen ones and LED headlamps are also seen here that surround the double-slat grille. Wraparound taillights and chunky bumpers have been given at the rear of the SUV, then there is a Finia in black plastic.


Citroen C3 Interior

The Citroen C3 is being built on a common modular platform with a wheelbase of 2,540 mm. The company claims that the customers sitting on its rear seats will also get a lot of space. Its ground clearance is 180 mm, which is slightly less than the Tata Punch. The cabin of the car gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A 1-litre glovebox and 315-litre bootspace have been given with the car. 

Competes Cars like Tata Punch and Ignis

The car is likely to get a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 130 bhp and the company may offer this engine with a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The new C3 may compete with the likes of Tata Punch and Ignis, but it will be a bit more expensive in terms of price. The company is producing it domestically, but despite this, this car is going to be expensive.
